Fermentio ("we", "our", "the app") is a fermentation companion app developed by an independent developer. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data Fermentio collects, how it is used, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Fermentio does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The app operates entirely offline and does not communicate with any external server.

All data is stored locally on your device:

  • Batch data — fermentation batches, daily logs, notes, ratings, and photos you create are stored on-device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
  • App preferences — settings such as your unit system preference and onboarding status are stored locally using UserDefaults.
  • Purchase status — your premium purchase is managed entirely through Apple's StoreKit framework. We do not process or store any payment information.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • No analytics or usage tracking
  • No advertising identifiers
  • No location data
  • No contact information
  • No cookies or web tracking
  • No data shared with third parties
  • No account creation required

Photos

If you choose to add photos to your batches, they are stored locally on your device within the app's data container. Photos are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with anyone unless you explicitly export a batch.

Notifications

Fermentio may send local notifications (e.g., reminders to check your fermentation). These are scheduled entirely on your device and do not involve any external push notification service.

In-App Purchases

Purchases are handled exclusively through Apple's App Store and StoreKit framework. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles purchase data.

Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

  • Delete the app to remove all Fermentio data from your device.
  • Individual batches can be deleted from within the app at any time.

Children's Privacy

Fermentio does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. Since no personal data is collected from any user, the app is safe for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
